Strawberry Cinnamon Energy Bites
You will love these easy to make energy bites! They are the perfect snack before you hit the gym, or anytime you need something quick to power you through the day (kids love them too!). How do you get energy from a little bite? It's all about the ingredients.
First, the cashews—nuts are like little powerhouses for energy due to the protein and magnesium they contain. Magnesium is also the mineral that helps turn off your body's stress response, so if you are stressed, your energy is going to be low, so you need to make sure to get sufficient magnesium through diet or supplements. If you have Cystic Fibrosis with digestive challenges, you should know that magnesium also relaxes the digestive system and relieves constipation.
Chia seeds also provide a good amount of protein, magnesium, fiber and omega 3 healthy fats (one ounce contains 4 grams of protein and gives you 30% of the recommended daily magnesium)
Strawberries are an excellent source of vitamins C and K, and they provide good fiber, folic acid, manganese, and potassium. The bright red color of strawberries comes from a significant amount of phytonutrients and flavanoids. Add in a drop or two of Cinnamon Bark oil, and you now have an energy bite that can help support a healthy metabolism and healthy blood sugar levels.
See, you can have nutritious and delicious at the same time!
