Salty Watermelon CF “Mocktail”

OK, so I can’t get enough of these mocktails lately!

What a great way to have a special drink as part of a celebration while doing something good for your body.

We all know the importance of extra salt when you have CF, so here’s a mocktail idea that combines sweetness of watermelon with added sea salt. So delicious!

Even the kids can enjoy this drink!

In case you didn’t realize, watermelon has tons of health benefits:

  • Hydrating- watermelon is 92% water, so it’s a delicious way to stay hydrated

  • Lycopene- watermelon contains more of this protective antioxidant than tomatoes

  • Good for your heart- an amino acid called citrulline may improve your circulation and reduce blood pressure

  • Vitamin A for healthy eyes,skin and immunity

  • Potassium- watermelon is rich in potassium, an important mineral for hydration and for preventing muscle spasms and cramps

Salty Watermelon Mocktail

Ingredients:

6 cups cubed watermelon

3/4 tsp sea salt

fresh lime juice

Puree ingredients in blender and then strain the liquid through a mesh strainer and pour into a cocktail glass. Top your glass with a slice of lime.
