Dijon Maple Dressing

Looking for a healthy alternative to the sugar-laden bottled salad dressings you see at the store? This Dijon Maple Dressing has just the right amount of sweetness from a bit of maple syrup and applesauce, along with the tang of Dijon mustard. This makes a great low-fat salad dressing as well as sauce for a Buddha Bowl or steamed veggies.

If your goal is weight gain, the second recipe includes extra virgin olive oil for some healthy fat. Use a few tablespoons on your salad

What You Need:

1/4 cup unsweetened applesauce

1 Tablespoon Dijon mustard

1 Tablespoon water

1 Tablespoon Grade A or B maple syrup (in the glass bottle)

2 Tablespoons apple cider vinegar

1/4 tsp sea salt’

1 minced garlic clove or dash of garlic powder, optional

What to Do:

Combine all ingredients in a mason jar and shake. Makes about 4 servings. Each serving is equal to about 2 tablespoons.

Dijon Maple Dressing (Higher Calorie Version)

1/3 cup extra virgin olive oil

2 Tablespoons Grade A or B maple syrup

2 Tablespoons apple cider vinegar

2 teaspoons Dijon mustard

Combine all ingredients in a mason jar and shake.
