Chocolate Chip Prebiotic Energy Bites

You may have heard of probiotics, or what I call the “garden” of good bacteria that live in your digestive tract. It’s important to have enough “good” bacteria to kill off the “bad” bacteria that so often makes its way into our bodies. When you take a probiotic supplement, you are taking in live microorganisms that can help support both the immune and digestive systems.

Since these guys are “live,” it’s important to feed them so they can thrive and do their work. That’s what prebiotics are- the food for the probiotics that supports the growth of these helpful microorganisms in the gut. If you have digestive challenges with your CF, this may be a great snack for you to include on a regular basis….to keep things “regular.”

We know that dark chocolate is healthy, but in this recipe we add prebiotic fiber to feed the little good guys and create a healthy environment in your digestive system. Plus, magnesium, healthy fats and plant protein to make for a delicious and healthy snack.
