Immunity Cider

As I write this, the world is panicking over the spread of Coronavirus. People are hoarding hand sanitizer, paper towels  and other supplies like we have never seen before!

The rapid spread of a virus like this is a scary situation, especially for the elderly and those who already have an underlying health concern. My daughter has Cystic Fibrosis, a genetic respiratory disease, so I am a little uneasy myself!

I  am not in a state of panic though, because we live a healthy lifestyle and this is so important!  This includes things like eating a colorful and balanced diet, exercise, and stress management.  Putting simple lifestyle pieces like these into place, you can enhance your immune system so that it can fight viruses and infections as it was meant to do.

If your diet consists mainly of processed and fast foods, you can start to add some delicious healthy plant foods to your diet. Consuming fresh veggies, fruits, whole grains, nuts and seeds in place of packaged treats, fast food burgers and loads of sugar and soft drinks will go a long way to light up your immune system.

Another lifestyle habit for me is my use of essential oils to support my family through any kind of health challenge.  These oils are a HUGE part of maintaining our health and  doTERRA's On Guard is a daily health habit that, combined with a healthy diet, gives me the reassurance that I can fight off pretty much any virus that crosses my path.

You can use this oil blend by applying  it topically to the bottoms of your feet or just put a couple of drops in your water and drink it daily. But a much more tasty way, and one of my favorite ways to use it, is to make this yummy cider.  My family loves it and, by drinking it daily, I know they are getting support for healthy immune function.

On Guard Cider

Half gallon of spring water

Juice of 4 organic lemons

10 drops doTERRA On Guard essential oil

10 drops doTERRA Lemon essential oil

10 drops doTERRA Wild Orange essential oil

3 T raw unfiltered apple cider vinegar

1/2 cup Manuka honey (Manuka has anti-bacterial properties, but substitute organic local honey if you cannot find it in your store)

Heat water in a large pot. It does not have to boil but should be hot enough to dissolve the honey. Add remaining ingredients and stir to combine. Drink as often as you wish throughout the day to enhance your immune system.
